DR. CRAIG K. SMALL

Dr. Craig Small is a third-generation Board Certified Optometrist whose grandfather, William, started one of the first optical establishments in Aroostook County in 1920.

Dr. Small was born and raised in Caribou, Maine, where he attended the Caribou School System.  Upon graduating high school, he completed a post-graduate year at Hebron Academy.  Dr. Small then went onto Dickenson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania for his under-graduate studies.  From there, Dr. Small went to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts for his graduate studies.  Dr. Small then received his board certification through the American Board of Optometry in September 2012.

In 1985, upon graduating from the New England College of Optometry, Dr. Small joined his father, Ogden, in the family practice.  In his spare time, Dr. Small has been a past Rotarian, and on the Cary Medical Center Hospital Board.  He has also assisted with coaching for the Caribou High School Ski Team.  Currently Dr. Small serves on the board of the Jefferson Cary Foundation.

Dr. Small has been happily married to Jane Mavor-Small for 24 years.  Together they have two beautiful daughters, Abby and Paige, who both currently attend college.  Among his other accomplishments, Dr. Small is an avid outdoorsman.  He especially enjoys fishing, hunting, canoeing, alpine skiing, water skiing, and mountain biking.
